How It Works
When you place a bid on BidandStudy, accredited language schools review your proposal and may send you real offers. Placing a bid is free, receiving offers is free, and you are never obligated to accept one.
When you decide on a school, a US$ 100 reservation deposit holds that place for you. It is not an extra cost: the amount is deducted from what you pay for your course.
Everything after that, the remaining amount and when it is due, is arranged with our team before anything is charged. You always see the exact figure before you pay it.
What You Pay and When
US$ 100 reservation deposit
Paid when you choose your school, to hold the offer while we confirm the details. Offers expire, and schools may not hold them past the deadline shown. The deposit is not refunded if you withdraw, but it is deducted from the total price of your course, so it is not money spent on top. Payments are made to FPP EDU Media LLC., the company behind BidandStudy.
Course and accommodation balance
The remaining amounts (course, accommodation, transfers and the other items on your offer) are paid to FPP EDU Media LLC. no later than 3 weeks (21 days) before your course starts, by card or bank transfer. After receiving the full amount, we settle the corresponding amounts with the school. Nothing is charged automatically, and comparing proposals costs nothing. Card payments carry the processing fee shown at checkout; bank transfers carry none.
Free Cancellation (When Offered)
Some schools provide Free Cancellation up to a defined number of days before the course start date. When available, you will see a FREE CANCELLATION badge on the offer, including the exact deadline (e.g., "Full refund up to 28 days before start").
Free Cancellation terms are set by each individual school and will be clearly visible before you accept the offer.
When the deposit IS refundable
- The school withdraws the accepted offer
- The school cannot honor the agreed terms (price, dates, inclusions)
- Your visa is refused despite following the school's documentation guidance, and you provide official proof of denial within the stated deadline (a small administrative fee may apply)
- Any other school-specific refundable scenario explicitly shown on the offer page
- BidandStudy cancels the transaction due to a platform issue
When the deposit is NOT refundable
- You choose not to proceed after accepting the offer
- You miss the offer validity deadline
- You don't complete necessary steps (documents, payments to school)
- Your situation doesn't match a free-cancellation window the school offered (and isn't otherwise covered above)
- You provided incorrect or misleading information affecting eligibility
- The course has already started
Refund Timeline
After you choose a school and pay the reservation deposit, the payment is processed by our payment providers and received by FPP EDU Media LLC.
The refund window runs until the start of the first week of your course. If any refund-eligible event happens before that point, we refund you.
Once your course has started, refunds of the reservation deposit are no longer available through BidandStudy.
How to Request a Refund
Submit your refund request through the messaging area inside the platform, addressed directly to BidandStudy.
We aim to review and respond within 7 business days. You may be asked to provide supporting documentation (e.g., official visa refusal letter).
Where to See Your Terms
Specific cancellation and refund terms for each school are shown on the offer before you accept. Each offer displays:
- The exact reservation deposit amount
- Free cancellation eligibility and deadline (if applicable)
- Visa refusal refund deadline and required proof
- The offer validity deadline
Make sure to review all terms carefully before accepting any offer.
